Community Courses

Somatic learning for musicians, educators, and artists.

Short, accessible trainings that introduce musicians to somatic breath practices, movement mapping, and nervous system regulation for artistry and resilience. Our community courses are designed to meet you where you are—whether you're recovering from burnout, seeking clarity in your body, or just curious about a new way to move and teach.

Each community course is part of The mBODYed Journey: Somatic Transformation for Musicians and Educators, a framework that helps you recognize your nervous system’s patterns of protection and find your next pathway toward balance, belonging, and creative freedom.

Our Approach to Learning

These aren’t traditional technique classes.
They’re somatic spaces for sustainable change.

We call these community courses because we learned that there needs to be a community around somatic conversations and learning in the arts.

Each class draws from the Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, nervous-system education, and somatic coaching. But more importantly, each course respects your current capacity. That’s why we offer self-paced options, gentle progressions, and clear pathways forward.

You do not need to be in pain, and you don’t need to be perfect. Just bring your curiosity and your body, exactly as it is.

If you are new to Somatics, start with The First Step Home: Begin the mBODYed Journey. Otherwise, feel free to join any course that resonates. Courses circulate and repeat throughout the year, and new offerings are added as they’re developed.

Check back often, or sign up for the newsletter to stay in touch.

The Impostor Archetype: Somatic Belonging and the Art of Being Seen

    ###

    (January 26 – March 9, 2026 — 6 classes, no class February 16th)

Many of us learned to meet visibility with effort rather than ease. We stepped into classrooms, lessons, rehearsals, or meetings and felt the quiet expectation to prove we belonged there. Over time, that expectation shaped how we approached performance, collaboration, and leadership.

This cohort offers a different way of relating to being seen. Here, impostor feelings are explored as protective strategies that once helped us navigate pressure, perfectionism, or high expectations. As we examine how these strategies show up in our physical habits, expressive choices, and modes of preparation, new possibilities for visibility emerge—ones built on clarity, choice, and a steadier sense of belonging.

    You will:

    • explore the Impostor Archetype as a learned protection pattern
    • reconnect visibility with grounding rather than tension
    • distinguish over-performance from authentic presence
    • learn Body Mapping practices that support breath, voice, and expression
    • develop a sense of belonging you can bring into artistic, academic, and relational spaces

This cohort is for those who:

    • feel pressure to earn or defend their place
    • over-prepare or over-perform to feel secure
    • contract or withdraw when recognized, praised, or asked to lead
    • notice a gap between how they feel internally and how they are perceived externally
    • want a steadier, truer way of showing up in front of others

    Archetype Fit: Impostor
    From proving → belonging.
    From protection → presence.

When Burnout Softens: A Path to Self-Belonging

    ###

    (March 16 – April 20)

A six-week community course for artists and educators who have carried too much for too long.

Many of us learn to navigate demanding environments by pushing past limits, taking responsibility for everything and everyone, and staying productive long after our energy has thinned. These patterns shape how we work, create, collaborate, and lead. With time, they leave us stretched, depleted, or feeling distant from the parts of our lives that once felt meaningful.

Burnout isn’t a personal failure. It’s a protective strategy that signals the need for a different relationship with responsibility, energy, and belonging.

This course offers space to understand that pattern and begin shifting it. Together, we look at how depletion and over-efforting develop through expectation, habit, and history—and what becomes possible when self-belonging becomes the foundation. Through grounded practices, guided reflection, and the support of a small group, you’ll begin rebuilding a steadier, more sustainable relationship with your work and yourself.

    Archetype Fit:

    • Ways to rebuild permission, pacing, and internal clarity
